Just a couple of weeks after Twitter did a huge update to their Windows Phone app, Twitter has launched a version of their application for Windows 8 and Windows RT. The app is currently available on the Windows Store in the Spotlight section for free (of course).
The application is simple, fast and elegant and fits nicely with the Windows 8 modern theme. The app can run in the background and the tile provides live updates.

Twitter is an excellent exhibit of the Windows 8 “Snap” view as well. It is fully featured in both full screen and snapped orientations:
I appreciate the fact that Twitter didn’t settle for the mediocre just to get an app in the store. This app is truly a great showcase for Twitter.
